About the Community Challenge
The It's Time Texas Community Challenge is an eight-week health competition that kicks off every January. Free to participate, Texans across the state compete and earn points by eating healthy, being active, and staying hydrated. Using the Community Challenge mobile app, participants can track their progress while earning points for themselves, their organization, and their local community. Additional app features empower participants to celebrate each other’s successes, find local group health activities, and explore nearby destinations that promote healthy living. The Community Challenge provides a fun, safe space for Texans to start small and take first steps towards a healthier lifestyle.
Our organization partners with local governments, school districts, employers, and other community-focused organizations that are working to make health a priority. At the end of the Community Challenge, winning communities, school districts, and employers are celebrated for their leading participation and commitment to health. The It’s Time Texas Community Challenge gives local health champions a platform to bring people together under the common goal of building a healthier community, leading to a healthier Texas.

Champions Unite
Thank you to our more than 22,991 registered participants who joined us for this 8-week journey to healthier habits! A special thank you to our 5,649 Health Champions who took the pledge and encouraged others throughout all 422 participating communities! And finally, we are so grateful to our Community Partners and all they have done to help the Community Challenge be possible! Our partners are leaders, organizations, school districts, and health advocates who not only organized special events and cultivated community engagement but, most importantly, have set a tone for their community to prioritize the health of all Texans.

Free Telehealth Coaching
Coaching available in English and Spanish, this free, confidential service via phone, text, and video provides support in setting health goals, establishing healthier habits, and preventing and managing chronic conditions.
Free Virtual Fitness Classes
It’s Time Texas offers free, virtual exercise and nutrition classes to all Texans and all fitness levels! Formats include Zumba, yoga, MixxedFit and more. Classes are available in English and Spanish
Healthier Texas Summit
Registration for Healthier Texas Summit is now open. Join It’s Time Texas and The University of Texas System in Austin, October 5th and 6th as more than 700 Public Health professionals, leaders, and innovators unite to transform health in Texas by empowering action for systems change.
Toolkits
It’s Time Texas provides a diverse set of toolkits to support organizations and communities with resources to build capacity while mobilizing efforts to implement healthy change.
Nutrition Education Videos
It’s Time Texas works to build healthier lives and healthier communities across Texas through interactive programming and educational materials. We encourage you to utilize our nutrition education videos as a resource and as personal support throughout your health journey.
